LONDON, MARCH 22 2021
Chordant today announced that it will be presenting a virtual event of Convex, the global mobility data exchange service on Thursday 25th March 2021.
Convex sits at the intersection between Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Intelligent Transport Infrastructure, Digitised Freight and Logistics and Mobility-based Services. By collaborating with public and private enterprises from different sectors of the mobility eco-system, Convex enables data-driven solutions that make transportation safer, cleaner, and better.
“Convex signals the end of hard to reach data and overly complex relationships between data providers and consumers that ultimately stall market growth and hinders operational efficiency,” says Chris Lane, Head of Innovation at Transport for West Midlands. “Convex heavily complements the strategic investments the UK has already made in this sector, such as the West Midlands 5G Program, Midlands Future Mobility CAV Testbed, the Future Mobility Zones, the UK Battery Industrialization Centre (UKBIC) and many more. Our use of Convex is accelerating new mobility solutions to market and supporting our operational delivery program with tangible results.”
The consortium, which includes Transport for West Midlands, Jaguar Land Rover, Bosch, WMG, at the University of Warwick, together with three innovation partners, Immense, Synaptiv and Valerann, have been working together since 2019 to create a global commercial mobility data exchange facility that accelerates the arrival of new data-driven mobility services that stimulate economic growth.
With £8 million in funding from both the UK Government and the private sector, Convex aims to facilitate profound changes in transport technologies and business models, to make the movement of people, goods and services greener, safer, easier and more reliable.
Arun Srinivasan, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobility Solutions at Bosch UK said, “This platform is a significant step for the UK in becoming a world leader in the development of data driven mobility services. Bosch sees great potential in using connected vehicle data to develop new services that address mobility and transport challenges, such as enhanced road safety, reduced congestion, improving air quality, to name a few. Our intention is to use data offered from platforms like these, to help address the transport and mobility challenges of the West Midlands through innovative solutions.”
To mark the completion of Project Convex from its CCAV-funded “build phase” to its commercial operation, Chordant is planning to host a virtual ‘Meet Convex’ event on Thursday 25th March 2021. The event aims to offer insights on what Convex is, what has been accomplished so far, and the role it plays in the mobility eco-system here in the UK, and how it will ultimately bolster the UK’s position on the global CAM stage.
“We at Chordant are very proud to showcase some of the work we’ve done in collaboration with our partners to demonstrate how the usage of data and data driven solutions add tremendous value in the broad and evolving area of mobility” says Mika Rasinkangas, President of Chordant. “I am confident that you will find this event as exciting as we do, and we can’t wait to see you at the ‘Meet Convex’ event.”
With demonstrations, voices from key industry leaders within the mobility eco-system, live presentations and an interactive Q&A panel, you can register for the event here: Meet Convex Tickets, Thu 25 Mar 2021 at 10:00 | Eventbrite
